StockRock impressed both the crowds and judges this year at the 2016 National Fieldays in Hamilton over the weekend where we were awarded ‘Best Innovative Showcase Site’ award from a competitive field of over 1000 sites.
The theme for the 2016 Fieldays is "Collaborate to Accelerate Innovation", so we are particularly thrilled to have won this prestigious accolade. Recognising innovation in the agricultural sector is at the heart of the event, so to have topped the field in this award category is really fantastic news.
StockRock has been exhibiting at Fieldays since 2006, so each year product manager Shane Smith tries to liven it up with a new or different theme. This year’s site also featured the launch of a new landscaping rock, Ngakuru Stone as a feature design element of the site. Ngakuru Stone will be available to the public from select landscaping supply stores in the Central North Island by early Spring 2016. It is an attractive, lightweight, creamy-hued volcanic rock suitable for many applications from garden ground cover to individual design feature rocks.
The site also displayed the traditional farm race material (StockRock) we have previously featured. StockRock is well proven over the North Island, helping to improve lameness in cows by up to 90%. If dairy cows are not being milked due to lameness, there is a down time in production and StockRock will help to improve that with our races.
Shane has worked really hard to create a display that makes people stop and look, so we are thrilled he has been recognised for his efforts.
Both StockRock and Ngakuru Stone are products offered by parent company Blue Pacific Minerals located in Tokoroa. Blue Pacific Minerals recently underwent an $11 million processing expansion and is set to lift its capacity for output. We process zeolite and perlite, natural minerals with wide uses for domestic, commercial, agricultural and industrial applications in both New Zealand and globally.
